Wave dynamics in branched systems and networks:
From Nano to Macro scale

May 25-27, 2016, Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The Workshop aims at isolation and discussion some less-explored problems of linear and nonlinear wave equations on branched systems and networks as well as their applications in optics, condensed matter physics, quantum information, cold atoms and low-dimensional nanoscale systems. This will be done by presenting invited and short talks for the broad auditorium of young researchers (e.g. PhD students, young postdocs and research associates) working on different areas of modern mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Wave dynamics in networks and branched structures is of importance for broad variety of topics in contemporary physics such as optics, condensed matter and cold atom physics, polymers and DNA physics, fluid dynamics, and acoustics. In particular, such problems as light propagation in optical fiber networks, BEC in network type traps, nonlinear optical phenomena in branched waveguides and acoustic waves in discrete structures deal with wave transport in branched systems. Due to recent progress made in nanoscale and mesoscopic physics particle and wave dynamics in branched structures, such as nanoscale networks, quantum and optical graphs has attracted growing interest during the last decade.

Talks to be presented at the Workshop will be focused on modeling of wave dynamics in branched systems and networks using linear and nonlinear evolution equations on metric graphs, their applications to particle and wave transport in low-dimensional nanoscale systems, optical fibers, DNA, seismic wave propagation, fluid dynamics and cosmic strings.
